About Figventory

Everything in Figventory today (along with what's being built next) comes from my first-hand experiences or directly from the feedback of the incredible community that has tested, used and suggested features for Figventory from the start.

We've bought the mystery bins. We've sorted the hundred-hour piles. We've identified torsos one at a time until our eyes were crossed, sold figs on eBay and Marketplace, hunted deals across every platform, and made nearly every bulk-buying mistake you can make (ask me about the grossest bulk buy of my life anytime... it's a doozy).

Figventory was born out of these experiences to make sorting, identifying, pricing and OBSESSING over bulk LEGO and minifigures easier. When I realized there were tools that the community and I both needed, there was no other choice... I had to build them.

More About Me

Hi... I'm Matt. Founder, builder, and Chief Fig Officer of Figventory. (And yes... this is a VERY real and completely legitimate executive title that I gave myself.) Most of my days consist of 8 hours at my day job, and then trying to find another 8 hours to work on Figventory. And honestly... I love every second of it because of the incredible community that's grown around this project.

The short version: I'm a lifelong builder who was born and raised in the Bay Area. My other passion is surfing, which is conveniently the one hobby I haven't figured out how to merge with LEGO...yet. I'm married to a wonderfully patient wife who tolerates LEGO in literally every room of our house... as long as she never steps on a brick I left out.

My current personal collection consists of well over 1,000 minifigures (rookie numbers compared to some of you I know), roughly five times that in loose minifigure parts, somewhere north of 300 pounds of unsorted bulk, and dozens of completed builds — my favorites of which are Drawbridge Defense (7079), the Camaro Z28 (10304), and my personal favorite build of all time, Pirates of Barracuda Bay (21322). Fun fact: the very first set my parents gave me when I was five was Black Seas Barracuda (6285).
